- The Real McCoy Comments:
This is a
fun, fun, fun speech where the best man announces that in a moment of utter
weakness he was persuaded by the groom to agree to be his best man. So
to explain the reason why he is 'croaking like a frog', as it were, he
tells the story about two frogs who were looking for a nice place to settle
together. And the moral of this story is that you should always think twice
before you act.... especially when the groom is a very persuasive person
like Peter.
The speech
then gently unfolds to one of my all-time favourite stories about what
is going through the bride's mind during the wedding ceremony. It's genuinely
great fun, and the punchline at the end will not only have everybody laughing,
but the bride and the groom will thoroughly enjoy it too!
As they say
in Australia, this speech is 'fair dinkum' for a nervous best man
who has been talked into doing a job that he would not normally wish to
do.
